Welcome to the Milner group! Our research interests lie broadly at the intersection of organic, inorganic, and materials chemistry. We employ extended framework materials to tackle challenges relevant to human health, energy, and the environment. We design frameworks that serve as heterogeneous reagents and catalysts for the synthesis of complex molecules relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. We also employ our intuition as synthetic chemists to develop new reactivity-based chemical separations, which underpin the pharmaceutical and polymer industries as well as efforts to fight rising atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. We also synthesize new redox-active materials relevant to electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, electrochemical energy storage, and electro-swing separations.
