Hello! I’d like to introduce everyone to the ZT Group in Upson Hall in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
We are an interdisciplinary research group specializing in both computational modeling and experimental characterization of energy transport. As electronic devices become ever smaller, it becomes ever more important to understand the mechanics of heat transfer on a nanoscale level, where classical methods and bulk properties no longer apply. As we learn to harness more energy, we must learn to deal with side effects such as waste heat, far better than we do today.
Some of the topics we work on are thermoelectric energy conversion, micro/nanoelectronics cooling, thermal/electrical properties of polymers, and novel thermal devices.
We are currently recruiting undergraduates, particularly sophomores. If you’re interested, find out more at https://ztgroup.org/
The application is here: https://forms.gle/AdwiLPPJfN1vpoqk6
The application closes on March 17th.
Thanks everyone!
