Mystery Box Throwdown

Friday afternoon was the Faculty Mystery Box Throwdown!!

Four groups of five faculty in the School of Hotel Administration teamed up to compete in a cooking competition with a mystery ingredient, beets!

Meet the teams and their respective captains:

Teams had 3 hours to make 3 courses for 7 judges (including some Hotel School students), and gave samples of their dishes to the crowd! All teams incorporated beets into each of their dishes, and boy were there some interesting concoctions.

Here is chef White, one of the people who helped plan the event, talking to the judges before the food comes out

  1. If only I had known the secret ingredient beforehand! I would’ve totally gone and devoured everything. #beetlove
