Ethnographic Video Online trial

ethnoMaureen Morris, the library’s selector for Anthropology, writes that she has arranged a trial of Ethnographic Video Online from Alexander Street Press (ASP).  This collection contains 608 films (1000 films when completed) and “it covers every region of the world and features the work of many of the most influential documentary filmmakers of the 20th century, including interviews, previously unreleased raw footage, field notes, study guides, and more.” You can access it at http://encompass.library.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/checkIP.cgi?access=gateway_standard%26url=http://anth.alexanderstreet.com/.  Comments on the product can be sent to Maureen at mm34 [at] cornell.edu.

As a reminder, CUL subscribes to a number of ASP collections, including The Sixties, which has just updated collection with  several publications from right-wing and anti-Semitic groups, including the Defenders of the American Constitution, Sons of Liberty, the Christian-Patriot’s Defense League, and many others.

And don’t forget that many ASP audio and visual collections, including American History in Video, are available through the Tompkins County Public Library.
