Update on State-Certified Grapevine Availability from New York Nurseries

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

3:00 – 4:30 PM Eastern Time

Description:

After a 14-year effort, New York State-certified vines will be available from New York nurseries in 2022. The National Clean Plant Network, established in the 2008 farm bill, invested in clean plant centers that eliminate viruses, such as grapevine leafroll and red blotch viruses from grapevines used as ‘foundation stock’. Update on State-Certified Grapevine Availability from New York Nurseries will provide information about the collaboration and process!

Cornell AgriTech, nurseries, and New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets have collaborated to establish new, virus-tested mother blocks and a rigorous testing program to keep them clean. New York State-certified vines will soon be available to growers throughout the East!
