We did not have a script, but we talked about traveling to Sweden until we both felt comfortable improvising about it. I think this means that we do have the ability to talk freely in German, but not ‘instantly’. I also realized after listening that there are words/grammar that I think I know (and that I probably know in writing) that don’t come out naturally. One example of this is articles. I think that when I’m thinking a bit ahead of the sentence under the assumption that I know well the nouns that I’m using, I turn the articles into the ‘Spanish’ version since that comes out more naturally to me.
