Research Focus
I received my B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to joining the Fischbach lab, I worked as a Research Associate in the Cancer Genomics group at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cornell University’s Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering.
I am interested in why breast cancer spreads so frequently to bone. Specifically, I use physical sciences methods to precisely characterize how the mineral phase of the metastatic site is changing with a progressing mammary tumor. Moreover, I employ tissue-engineered model systems to assess how this mineral may be influencing the pathogenesis of bone metastatic breast cancer. Outside of lab, I co-lead Science Communications Cornell and I enjoy mentoring undergraduates as part of the Cornell Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives mentoring program.
