About EOA

The Extension/Outreach Assistantship is an outreach program that allows Cornell University Entomology graduate students the opportunity to engage the local community directly, with educational and enriching experiences with insects.

Cornell University’s Department of Entomology has had a long standing commitment to education and outreach in New York State. In addition to participating in departmental and college events such as Insectapalooza and Empire Farm Days, our department members also conduct outreach activities with many schools in the Finger Lakes Region.  Extension/Outreach Assistants engage in diverse insect-related projects including development of instructional or training materials, building educational insect displays, producing extension publications,  and when possible, via insect outreach through school presentations and public educational events. (We are unfortunately not able to provide insect presentations for school visits this semester, but please check back starting September, 2017.)
