Max Zhang, Irving Porter Church Professor of Engineering
Dr. Zhang joined the Cornell MAE faculty in 2006. He received his PhD degree at the University of California at Davis. While at graduate school, he was a visiting scientist at the USEPA National Exposure Research Laboratory twice, in 2000 and again in 2002. At Cornell, Dr. Zhang initiated several multi-disciplinary research projects on energy and environmental systems, impacted-driven Internet of Things (IoT). He is currently serving as the Kathy Dwyer Marble and Curt Marble Faculty Director at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability.

Alfredo Rodriguez, PhD Candidate
Alfredo joined EERL in 2018 after receiving his B.S. degree from The City College of New York. His current project is to design a New York statewide Internet of Things (IoT) network for energy and environmental sensing. He has been engaging communities in 30 New York counties on the IoT project.

Bo Yuan, PhD Candidate
Bo joined EERL in 2019 after receiving his B.S. degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University. His current project is to create an integrated energy and atmospheric modeling system for New York State’s ambitious climate initiatives.

Ali joined EERL in 2019 after receiving his M.S. degree from Sharif University of Technology. His current project is to develop effective strategies to integrate electrified space heating and water heating systems with renewable energy.

Jintao joined EERL in 2019 initially as an M.S. student in Materials Science and Engineering and is working on computer vision-based identification of localized emission sources, data-driven air quality modeling, and predicting the performance of electric buses in cold climates.

Alex Coy, PhD Candidate
Alex joined EERL in 2019 as an ECE undergraduate researcher and served as the hardware lead for IoT-based energy and environmental sensing. He is currently working on his PhD research at ECE and is mentoring the Engaged IoT student project team.
