Manuel “Prexy” Gonzales enrolled in 1911 and spent three years at Cornell. He graduated in 1914. While at Cornell, Manuel studied agriculture, but is perhaps best known for his club involvement and passionate views. He was reported to be an ardent champion of Philippine independence and simultaneously a major proponent of cosmopolitanism. He served as the Cosmopolitan Club president for his entire three years at Cornell. Manuel was also part of the dramatic club, student conference committee, junior general committee, and the Aero Club.
