Due to the uncertainty of the Covid19 pandemic, I have decided to convert the Cornell Tax Schools for 2020 to live, on-line programs. This means that you can view Norm, Dario, and me from the comfort of your home or office, still have opportunity to ask us questions during the presentation, and network with other attendees.
Our survey earlier this spring indicated that whatever I decided, some people would not be happy. However, the survey results indicated that most people would not be comfortable in a hotel setting for the conferences given the uncertain prospects for the fall. Attempting to adhere to current rules would be challenging given the number of people attending and the hotel space available. Unfortunately, the decision had to made now to minimize cancellation charges. We are also making every effort to include as much opportunity for networking as possible since regular attendees have indicated that that is important.
Hopefully, this is only a one-year departure from in-person programs. I am currently negotiating contracts with our usual hotel venues for 2021 and have already established the following dates and locations:
Binghamton In-Depth October 28 & 29, 2021
Saratoga Springs In-Depth November 3 & 4, 2021
Buffalo In-Depth November 8 & 9, 2021
Rochester In-Depth November 10 & 11, 2021
Syracuse In-Depth and Mostly 1040 November 15 & 16, 2021
Rochester Mostly 1040 November 17 & 18, 2021
There is a myriad of details still to work out on taking our programs on-line. As I finalize plans I will post updates on the Cornell Tax School “News From The Director” blog. Right now, the 700+ page national tax workbook and the NYS Income Tax handbook are well under way, and I’ve made arrangements for those to be available digitally for those who wish to avoid receiving printed copies in the mail. The printer has indicated that he can send the printed copy direct to you for a shipping cost of $25, so that is still an option.
Stay tuned.
Hope to see you this fall.
