The Design Connect team is tasked with coming up with a way to revitalize the village of Newark’s downtown area, attract more tourism and make the place a sought-after destination. The team consists of two undergraduate and one graduate student in Landscape Architecture, one Architecture student, one student in Applied Economics and Management, three students in City and Regional Planning,  and one student in Urban and Regional Studies.  The team is working directly with the Mayor’s office to give the village a new feel and make it more enjoyable and aesthetically appealing. Team members are  also trying to highlight the Erie Canal and create some form of historical walk along it because it cuts through the middle of the village.
