A new journal article, titled A comparison of hippocampal and retrosplenial cortical spatial and contextual firing patterns, was published in Hippocampus Journal. See the paper here. Congratulations Dev!
Congratulations to Jiarui (Ray) Fang on the successful completion of honors project, thesis, and poster presentation.
He will graduate with very well-deserved honors titled “An Investigation into Anterior Olfactory Nucleus Neuronal Activity During Learning of a Complex Context Dependent Odor Memory Task”. Ray will continue his studies as a PhD student at Boston University in the Dr. Michael Hasselmo lab. Ray was also the recipient of the Robert R. Capranica Award is for an outstanding undergraduate honors thesis in neuroethology, link for more information on the award.
Congratulations to Shiping (Emily) Li for successfully delivering her 2nd year graduate talk.
Shiping’s talk was on “The Functions of the Retrosplenial Cortex”.
Congratulations to Wendy Yang for an excellent 4th year graduate talk.
Wendy’s talk was on “The Role of the Anterior Thalamus in Spatial Learning and Memory”.

Congratulations to Post-Doctoral Fellow Wen-Yi Wu on New Academic Position
Post-Doctoral Fellow Wen-Yi Wu recently accepted an Assistant Professor position in the School of Medicine at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. Congratulations Wen-Yi!
Lilyanna Gross awarded the Post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Fellowship at NIH
Undergraduate researcher Lilyanna Gross will work under the mentorship of Dr. Patti Brennan in Advanced Visualization Branch. She will use interactive VR environments to investigate what types of challenges people with chronic medical conditions might face in carrying out their instrumental activities of daily living. This research aims to help deepen the available knowledge for other researchers and apply it to improve daily living for people with chronic medical conditions. Congratulations Lilyanna!
