Who are we?

The members of this project are cut flower growers, those who work with them, those who would like to be cut flower growers, and anyone with a interest in cut flowers.  We come from all over the country, although the organizing team is based in NYS. We think our strength is in diversity and in sharing information, so we welcome all to join the list-serv and blog and ask questions, share information, and participate.

Who is the team? Dana Havas is the Cornell Cooperative Extension Cortland Agriculture Team Leader and co-developer of the listserv. Elizabeth (Betsy) Lamb (she/her) is the coordinator for ornamental integrated pest management for NYS IPM and the other co-developer. Jingjing Yin is the Regional Commercial Horticulture Educator for the Capital Area Agriculture and Horticulture Program.  Lindsey Pashow is the Regional Ag Business and Marketing specialist based at Cornell Cooperative Extension Harvest New York and a lavender grower (so she has some street cred 😊).   Would you like to join the organizing team?  Contact any of us!

We went through the listserv data  in January 2022 to create a snapshot of where everyone is located. In addition to NYS, there are folks from:  Alabama, Alaska, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota (Go, Gophers – but not in flower fields!), New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Vermont. And we’ve even gone international with Argentina 😊
