The Design Connect team working with the Town of Newfield, NY, will be presenting their research and recommendations to the town’s planning board on Wednesday, May 26th. Students have been working on creating a vision for the hamlet through a master plan that integrates strategies for improving its circulation and socio-economic potential.
Students in the Design Connect team will be presenting ideas for incorporating elements highlighted from the Newfield Hamlet Revitalization Plan, which includes inclusive streets, improving traffic safety, and finding opportunities to boost its local businesses and organizations.
Newfield community members have been encouraged to attend this meeting to witness the student work, as well as provide commentary or feedback on the project.
During its most unprecedented year, Design Connect worked under the circumstances of the ongoing pandemic, having three different student teams this semester to work with a variety of municipalities, organizations, and community stakeholders to provide the best planning and design services.
