This semester, Design Connect will partner with four Finger Lake region community organizations and agencies to provide conceptual design services ranging from park and open space proposals to transportation accessibility services.
Projects will be based in:
Ithaca, NY: TCAT to Trail Accessibility Planning and Design
Penn Yann, NY: Memorial Park and Pavilion Re-Design
Newfield, NY: Complete Street and Transportation Planning
Owego, NY: Concept Design for Art Park
The Design Connect committee will host two informational sessions on Monday, February 8th, and Tuesday, February 9th, at 8 pm EST for all students interested in participating in these community projects.
Design Connect is a collaborative, student-run, multidisciplinary design and planning class that partners with local communities on civic projects, helping to conduct research, build consensus, generate ideas, and identify opportunities to move projects forward through grants, fund-raising, media coverage, or by building public support.
