Second year M.R.P. student Austin Aldag, participated in a panel discussion on municipal fiscal stress and community responses at the Albany Law School. Other members of the panel included Christine Chung, professor of law at the Albany Law school, and Loudes German, director of International & Institute Wide Initiatives, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. The panel was part of a Community Renewal event hosted by the Government Law Center and the Institute for Financial Market Regulation at Albany Law School.
One of the most daunting issues facing local governments in the last decade has been the problem of vacant and abandoned properties, or “blight.” This interdisciplinary conference will include multiple panels and workshops exploring topics related to local government, blight, scarcity, and renewal in both urban and rural landscapes.
