Rapid Response Grants for Graduate Students

Structure: CPC will provide competitive seed grants to support graduate student research activities. These could include the acquisition of data (e.g., participation in the Empire State Poll at the Survey Research Institute), incentives for data collection, support for undergraduate RA work, or travel for field work. These funds are not to be used for conference travel or equipment. We intend to fund activities no larger than $500. We encourage and expect applicants to seek additional and/or matching funds from advisors, department heads, and other centers.

Eligibility: CPC graduate student affiliates are eligible, with priority given to demography minors.

Timing and review process: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with decisions generally made within two weeks. Applications will be reviewed by the CPC Director and Training Directors.

Reporting: Awardees are expected to acknowledge CPC in supported research in the following manner: I acknowledge institutional support through a training grant from the Cornell Population Center AND on a CV as [Date] Training Grant, Cornell Population Center, Cornell University.
