5 Apps that are Helping Teach Financial Literacy

Apps don’t just have to be for killing time and adding flower crowns to your selfies!
They can also help manage your workouts, your time, even your budget!

Check out these 5 apps designed to help keep that piggy bank full!

Digit

This amazing little app automatically scans your income and spending, calculates a small amount of savings it estimates deems you won’t need to spend, and then regularly transfers it in to a separate account. You’re then free to withdraw your savings at any time, or leave it in there accruing interest. The best part is that Digit helps you analyze your spending and saving, making you more aware of your finances.

Groupon

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or in a remote mountain cave, you’ve probably heard of Groupon. The app collects discounts and promo codes from retailers and service providers in your local area, and helps you find deals on everything from flights and holiday accommodation to your local hair salon. Making Groupon is a perfect tool for cutting down your costs without sacrificing all your luxuries.

Splitwise

The perfect app for students or those in shared accommodation situations. Splitwise lets you share bills and IOU’s. It allows every member of the group to view the total amount they owe, track spending trends and send out email reminders for bills. Splitwise isn’t just useful for students though, you can use it to help plan and budget a road trip with friends, a family vacation or even a surprise birthday party. If you’re looking for an app to take the headache out of cost sharing, then this is it!

Lasoo

If you’re still not 100% on board with the idea of online shopping, then Lasoo may be the app you’ve been waiting for. Just plug an item into the search and watch as the local stores and retailers in your area are catalogued to help you find the best price, and where it’s located. Lasoo also lets you know the stores opening hours and view the stores directory too! Saving you time as well as money!

Clarity

How many times have you signed up for a free 30-day trial of something, only to forget to cancel it and then find yourself with an unexpected bill? Clarity is going to solve that problem for you. In fact, if you’re not using a subscription service, Clarity can just cancel it for you! It also helps lower your bills by searching for, and taking advantage of discounts on utilities and bills, and tracks your spending habits. It will even suggest the best credit cards for you to help you get the lowest interest rates! Unfortunately, Clarity is currently only available for Apple devices, but the Android version is in development and expected to arrive in the Play store soon!

These 5 apps alone could help you save thousands of dollars every year, without you having to do the hard work! So, what are you waiting for? Grab your smartphone and start making it money smart!
