Allicia Sand, LVT

Allicia Sand is no stranger to the world of veterinary medicine. Originally from Williamson, NY, Sand received her licensed veterinary technician (LVT) degree from SUNY Delhi in 2011. Sand comes to Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program (MSMP) with 15 years of LVT experience, both in small and large animal medicine, as well as expertise in working with emergency and critical care patients.

When asked why the transition to shelter medicine, Sand said she has always grown up fostering kittens and loves keeping busy. While she still plans to pick up additional LVT shifts at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA), to help all animals, both big and small, Sand is looking forward to working regular business hours with shelter medicine vs. overnight shifts, at the College of Veterinary Medicine and at the SPCA of Tompkins County.
