Congratulations to Dr. Jan Scarlett on being awarded the prestigious 2025 Calvin W. Schwabe Award by the Association for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine!

This award recognizes a lifetime of remarkable contributions to veterinary epidemiology and preventive medicine. Dr. Scarlett, from Cornell University, has been a leader in advancing epidemiological research, particularly in companion animal welfare. Her dedication to this field has positively impacted countless animals and the broader veterinary community.

As part of the Schwabe Symposium, Dr. Scarlett delivered an inspiring presentation, “Challenges to Conducting Epidemiologic Research Regarding Companion Animal Welfare,” alongside a panel of accomplished speakers who brought their unique insights to the complex issues of animal health and welfare:
