Like many industries which have adapted to alternate ways of conducting business using virtual platforms, dog training has become more readily accessible. GoodPup is a 1-1, at-home, live virtual dog training service that allows its customers to create their own convenient schedule to train their furry friends with the help of experienced, certified dog trainers. All GoodPup trainers are certified, vetted, and reviewed and employ positive reinforcement techniques. They are available extended hours to chat or answer questions. And they are partnering with shelters to provide a free, post-adoption training session, as well as reduced fees for ongoing training sessions for adopted dogs.
Each dog receives a personalized training plan. The first week of training is free; afterwards it is $29.00/week ($24.50 for shelter dogs) with a “cancel anytime” policy. The mobile apps are downloadable on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Examples of training can include the nine basic commands, potty training, or preventive behavior skills, as well as more advanced behavioral issues.
Each shelter that works with GoodPup receives ongoing donations to help with the cost of continued care. Some of the current shelters working with GoodPup are Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Utah, Friends of PACC and Paws 4 Life.
