Aquatic Research
The Cornell Experimental Ponds Facility is home to 69 ponds across two units, along with an additional 22 shallower marsh ponds. Extensive research has taken place using the ponds over nearly 60 years, including studies on aquatic plant communities, algal and zooplankton communities, thermal dynamics, food webs, and biogeochemistry. Current aquatic research focuses on pond community and ecosystem ecology. For more about current work, check out the Holgerson Lab website.
