Meet Shamir Shehab, a future classmate of yours at CIPA—and learn why he’ll be honored by Queen Elizabeth in June!

Shamir ShehabWe are so proud of the students in our MPA program!  They are such a varied group—representing diverse cultures, fields of interests, endeavors, and experiences.  Our graduates often say that one of the best take-aways from CIPA is the network they develop within the program itself.  Their classmates become both their close friends and their future colleagues.

We would like to introduce you to one of our current students—and a future classmate should you join CIPA this next fall.  Shamir Shehab is a first-year fellow who was recently recognized for his climate change work in his home country of Bangladesh.  This June, he will be meeting Queen Elizabeth.  You can read about his accomplishments here.

I met so many incredible people during my time at CIPA, all of whom humbled me with their experiences, ideas, and passion for making the world a better place through the development and implementation of sound policy. CIPA Fellows are a tight cohort who would rather have fun and help one another succeed than compete with one another... –Kelly Hughes Van Beveren ‘14

An abiding sense of community at CIPA is part of the very fabric of the program. Some of the finest learning experiences can be had through interacting with your peers and the opportunity to participate in and become part of a meaningful community is fundamental to what CIPA offers. After two years this means that you will have established deep connections with your classmates, CIPA, and Cornell, and these relationships will likely help lead you to both personal and professional fulfillment. –Matt Williger ‘14
