Workshop Brings Composting Indoors.

On January 26th Sustainable Montour Falls, Fingerlakes Composting, and CCE Schuyler held an online workshop to demonstrate how to address the challenges of winter composting – cold weather and a lack of space – by composting indoors.

17 attendees learned the ins and outs of vermicomposting, stealth composting, and stockpiling food scraps – a practice perfect for the winter months when access to outdoor composting is limited. CCE Educator Marissa Nolan hosted the event along with Fingerlakes Composting owner, Heather Gilbert, and Master Gardener, Debbie Ball. Using slides, each presenter detailed how anyone could bring composting into their homes.

This was CCE Schuyler’s first workshop to be recorded and made available to the public via the CCE Schuyler YouTube Channel.
