MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y. – Are you a caregiver looking for additional parenting resources this summer? CCE Schuyler Parenting Educator, Paula Goodrich, has created a set of three summer parenting kits designed to offer parenting resources and support for parents, grandparents, and caregivers.
Each monthly kit consists of helpful resources and family activities that highlight useful parenting ideas and family time. June’s kit will cover routines and values, offer family book suggestions, teach families new songs to sing, encourage families to take nature walks, and directions for a fun craft paper vase activity to place fresh wildflowers. Materials for these projects will be included. Kits will also contains coupons to be redeemed at the Family Play and Resource Center located at the Human Services complex in Montour Falls, NY. Families do not need a coupon to attend the center, but those who turn in their coupons will receive a special token of appreciation. Participating families will be invited to a monthly family meal. Kits for July and August will have similar fun family activity ideas.
The parenting kits are free to all parents and caregivers. As summer approaches, kids are often overjoyed with no school, less formal routines, and warm weather that they can play outside in. parents and caregivers might hear those treasured words, “I’m bored” and the activities in the Parenting Summer Kits can help.
