Hello, welcome to my blog! My name is Brenda Kim and I am a rising senior majoring in Human Development, working as a CCE intern this summer. I’m grateful for this opportunity to delve further into my interests in medical decision making. The project I am working on is about how the way that information is presented influences peoples’ understanding of health-related decisions, intentions, and behaviors. I am getting a chance to work with an adolescent sample for this project, a group I have not yet worked with! I look forward to seeing how different factors contribute to their decision making, particularly in health, which is especially relevant considering the discourse surrounding vaccines following the COVID-19 pandemic, and even prior to the pandemic. This week, I dove right into researching official health resources and journal articles to gather the latest facts around disease risk and vaccination for COVID-19 and the flu. This is an important topic as these decisions we make directly impact not only our health, but the people around us as well. I am super excited to continue with this project and see where it goes!
