CCE Summer Interns are required to write weekly blog entries using the Cornell Blog Service- which uses the WordPress platform. The weekly blogs are a tool used to showcase the interns talents while also create an online record of their summer accomplishments. Highlights from the students blogs are shared with funders, decision-makers, faculty and staff looking to host interns, and other Cornell students looking for a meaningful internship with CCE.
Blogging Expectations (for students):
- The interns are required to maintain a blog of their summer experiences
- We suggest a weekly update/entry (include pictures when available!)
- Highlight weekly achievements, data, thoughts, etc.
- Blog posts/entries don’t need to be too long. A 150 word paragraph is recommended to keep blogs clean and easy to navigate
Blogging Guidance (for faculty/mentors):
- Encourage interns to post weekly updates/entries (remember to include photos!)
- Remind interns that the blogs can be used as a tool to prepare for the fall CCE Internship Reception and Poster session
- Blogs are viewed by the CCE Director and used as a tool to connect with decision-makers, potential funders, university officials, etc.
