Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County will be working with Lewis, St. Lawrence & Clinton county Extensions to host a Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Training. The lecture portion will offered virtually October 15, followed by chute side trainings at various locations. Details here. Registration is $15.00 per person or $30.00 per farm. Payment is accepted at the chute-side training.

Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a program focused on training cattle producers in management practices. The training is based on national guidelines and scientific research with the purpose of enhancing carcass quality and safety, thereby protecting the consumer confidence in our beef supply. Topics covered during the certification process include safe handling and use of health care products, safe animal handling, animal welfare and record keeping.
