Christina Hall_2 Senior Christina Hall is interning with Cornell Cooperative Extension involving invasive species statewide outreach assessing management practices such as mowing frequency and timing to control invasive species that threaten agricultural lands.
Andrew Lefever Andrew Lefever is a junior interning with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. in southeastern Pennsylvania  as a maize product development research intern involving broad-based exposure to the day to day activities of a Northeast corn breeding program.
 Anna Long  Senior Anna Long is interning with the Cornell Lake Erie Research and Extension Center on a Extension project examining methods for weeds and biological control of insects on hops.
Tyler Pardoe Senior and crop production and management concentration student, Tyler Pardoe, is interning with Cornell’s Nutrient Management Spear Program assisting with field research while also managing his own project.


Senior Daniel Boucher is interning with Hosmer Winery in Ovid New York doing vineyard and winery work.
Senior Lars Demander is interning with Cornell’s Nutrient Management Spear Program assisting with field research while also managing his own project evaluating the use and effect of various zone tillage depths.
Senior Andrew Gardinier is interning with Agrinetix LLC and Agricultural Consulting Services, Inc. doing scouting, crop production management, and precision agriculture technology monitoring.
Senior Michael Ha is working with Professor Matthew Ryan as part of his cropping systems summer research program.
Junior and Plant Science double major, Laura Hlusko, is interning at a vegetable farm in western Pennsylvania doing a variety of greenhouse and crop production management.
Senior Brooke Parsons is interning in Spain at Casa Sicilia, a winery and vineyard in the small town of Novleda engaged in all aspects of the operation.
Senior Merielle Stamm is interning at a diversified small farm in Virginia doing varied crop production and direct market sales.


Senior Caleb Burlee is interning with Crop Production Services in upstate New York scouting and supporting farmers in pest management evaluations.
 Junior Missy Call is interning with the Cornell Department of Horticulture Annual Flower Trial Research at Bluegrass Lane. Missy is getting experience doing it all from plant care and maintenance to data collection and attending industry events.
Catherine May is a junior and double major in Agricultural Sciences and International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cool Ridge, West Virginia. This summer she is working with Cornell Cooperative Extension staff and growers in Clinton and Essex counties, based out of Plattsburgh, NY. Her work involves monitoring for new invasive pests, scouting crops, assisting at field meetings and discussion groups, as well as disseminating grower resource material.
Junior Sara Orlowski is interning with Cornell’s Nutrient Management Spear Program conducting lab and field work in support of New York growers. Among her efforts is a factsheet on soybeans and lime application.
Ethan Robertson is a sophomore concentrating in crop production and management. He is interning with Helena Chemical meeting customers and learning about agricultural business in the Northeast. In addition to working in sales, Ethan will conduct tissue and soil sampling for yield management.
Senior and crop production and management concentration student Allison Strub is interning in western New York with Cornell Cooperative Extension in a team focused on crop and animal production as well as pest and weed management.
 Derek Zerkowski is a senior focused in crop production and management. He is interning with the Western NY Crop Management Association conducting scouting, soil sampling, and serving grower needs.


casey knapp Casey Knapp is from Cobblestone Valley farm in Preble, NY.  He is interning in the Farmers in Marketing department at Organic Valley in La Farge, Wisconsin.  He hopes to gain insight into the complexities of the cooperative business model and organic milk markets.
Rosy Cohane Mann Rosy Cohane-Mann is a rising senior with a concentration in Sustainable Agriculture, and a minor in Natural Resources. This summer she is doing an internship with Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Capital District Vegetable and Small Fruit Program looking at the impacts of local food on the economy in Washington and Saratoga counties.
Marissa Angell My name’s Marissa Angell, I’m interning with Thomas Björkman over the summer at Cornell’s NYS Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva.  I’m helping with research of how cover crops affect soil condition and help with weed suppression. Specifically I’m doing data collection and analysis, laying out research plots, and other various activities.  I hope you enjoy my blog!
Ryan Amberg My name is Ryan Amberg, I am a rising junior with a concentration in corporate business. This summer I am working in Washington D.C. for Congressman Tom Reed’s office and working closely with Andrew Wayne, their Agricultural Legislative Director.
Julio Pachon My name is Julio Cesar Pachon, I am a sophomore in Agricultural Sciences and Plant Science. I am currently interning at a large agricultural company in South Africa, ZZ2. I hope to aid in further research on biochar, pyrolized organic material, and analyze the current outreach program through the farmer’s perspective.
Valerie Bollinger Valerie Bollinger is a rising junior with a focus in sustainable agriculture.  This summer she is interning with a crop consultant in Lancaster, PA gaining a deeper understanding of the career field, cropping systems, and their management.


chelsey keeler Chelsey Keeler is a rising junior in the major and is interested in food science, food law, and the communication and sustainability aspects of food. She is interning through SupAgro University in Montpellier, France and spending the summer working with olives/olive oil at the Domaine de l’Oulivie.
Ryan Fessenden Ryan Fessenden is a rising junior from King Ferry, NY. He is studying Crop Production and Management, while minoring in Viticulture and Enology. This summer Ryan is interning with Long Point Winery in Aurora, NY and hopes to learn more about the New York Wine and Grape Industry.
Jeff Williard Jeff Williard is a rising senior from Candor, NY.  He is interested in water and soil conservation and sustainable agriculture.  He is interning at the (NRCS) Natural Resourse Conservation Service office in Ithaca.  He will be spending his summer assisting their staff in implementing water and soil conservation measures in Tompkins and Schyuler counties.

Marlene van Es is a rising senior double majoring in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. This summer she will be interning at ZZ2 farms in Mooketsi, South Africa helping the farm expand its extension services to local small farmers to support stability in the region.
Dan Demeree Daniel Demeree is a rising senior from an organic dairy farm in Little Falls, NY. He is interested in agricultural economics and markets. This summer he is interning with the Department of Crop and Soil Science’s organic weed management group working on research projects involving crop rotations, cover crops, and tillage practices. He hopes to gain an understanding of research methods, as well as organic agriculture.

 Chang Lian is a rising senior and a transfer student from China. This summer he is working with Quirine Ketterings on potassium management research examining ways to help farmers save money on potash application.
GEOFF REEVES  Geoff Reeves is a rising senior from Kansas interested in crop production. During the semester Geoff plays for the men’s varsity basketball team. This summer he is living in Algona, Iowa and working throughout northern Iowa as a seed intern for MaxYield Cooperative.
 John Orlowski is a rising senior and double major in Ag Sciences and Natural Resources working for Syngenta Crop Protection this summer as a crop protection research intern. John serves in many other roles including recruitment coordinator for his fraternity, Alpha Zeta, and student representative on the national high council for Alpha Zeta.
 Cassilyn Schweighofer is a Junior from NE Pennsylvania interested in nursery management and crop production. She competes as a thrower for the Cornell Women’s Track and Field Team. This summer she is staying in the Ithaca area interning with the Nelson Lab, studying Northern Corn Leaf Blight in maize.
