Cornell Cooperative Extension connects the research-based knowledge of Cornell University to individuals, communities, and families in the Capital Region.

Over 150 Cornell Cooperative Extension educators bring the University to residents where they live and work across ten counties in the Capital Region. Cornell Cooperative Extension professional staff engages residents in educational programs that transform lives.

• Strengthening the next generation through 4-H Youth Development programs in neighborhood clubs and classrooms
• Fostering strong, active and healthy families and individuals as a result of Eat Smart New York (ESNY) and other nutrition and health initiatives
• Increasing prosperity and self-sufficiency in our region’s “Main Streets” by supporting economic vitality programs
• Improving residents’ access to farm-fresh products at farmers’ markets and quality homegrown produce through the guidance of trained Master Gardeners
• Connecting Capital Region residents to the environment, leading natural resources stewardship efforts through education
