Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County, Rensselaer County Economic Development and Planning, Montgomery County Soil and Water Conservation District and Schoharie County Agricultural Development are hosting a social media and marketing workshop on March 12th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the William Rice Jr. Extension Center located at 24 Martin Road in Voorheesville, NY.

Jessica Ziehm, owner and operator of The Farmstore at Tiashoke Farms, is a lifelong advocate of agriculture and will be sharing with participants strategies using social media to grow your market. Jessica recently renovated the farm’s old heifer barn and created a vibrant farm store that doubles as an event space and rural destination for the greater Capital District.

Derek Haynard from HAYnerd Media will explore with guests how farm stores and farmers markets can leverage social media’s attention to enhance visibility, connect with communities, and promote their businesses. He will discuss strategies for an effective online presence, content ideas, and best practices to get the most out of today’s digital world.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County (CCERC) is excited to announce the fifth annual Farm Day Out event.All are invited to Farm Day Out on Sunday March 10, 2024, from 12 noon-3pm located at 25 Quaker Road, Johnsonville, NY. On the farm, visitors will be able to tour the sugar house, experience a tractor ride to the sugar bush, learn about sugar bush wildlife, sample sugar maple products (especially maple candy), wood processing activities, visit local agriculture vendors and learn more about where our food and fiber comes from.
