NYSDEC is pleased to announce the Fall 2021 CleanSweepNY chemical collection event. Starting
on October 12, 2021 there will be an opportunity to dispose of unwanted pesticides and chemicals,
elemental mercury, and school laboratory chemicals.
Triple-rinsed plastic containers will also be collected and recycled. Triple rinsing instructions can be
found at: http://www.acrecycle.org/triple_rins.html
Eligible participants include, but are not limited to, commercial pesticide applicators, local
municipalities, schools, golf courses, cemeteries, and marinas.
The Fall 2021 CleanSweepNY Program Will:
1. Hire a professional waste hauler to dispose of unwanted pesticides and other waste chemicals;
2. Provide on-farm or on-site pickup for structurally unstable containers; and
3. Collect for recycling triple-rinsed HDPE (#2) pesticide containers.
All pesticides brought to the collection event by registered participants will be disposed free of charge.
Registration forms must be completed and returned no later than September 30, 2021. This
deadline must be met to assure participation in the program.
It is important that we know whether the packaging surrounding each product is in a condition that
allows for its safe transportation to the collection site without spilling or leaking. Please indicate this in the
appropriate box on the registration form.
