Pilot: AAP NYC Planning Studio

I have always found the intersection of city and regional planning and landscape architecture to instill a powerful combination of skills used for analyzing and progressing change in urban areas. City and regional planning is a study incorporating the social, economic and historical element of cities that are imperative when advising change-making. Landscape architecture impacts the environmental, geological and physical, incorporating a set of technical skills that are also necessary to instigate change.

The opportunity for CRP and MLA students to study at AAP NYC represents this combination. The Urban Design Studio of 11 students brings together 3 Masters in Planning, 4 Masters in Landscape Architecture, and 4 undergraduate students in Urban and Regional Studies. In collaboration, we work on New York City-based projects, converging a variety of skills required to foster resilient cities at a time when both social and environmental issues are increasingly urgent.
