Klaas van Wijk – Primary Investigator (kv35@cornell.edu). When not running, Klaas sits mostly in his office chair or walks the corridors looking for research activities and discussions. His passion is chloroplast biology, and trying to write up our research findings and find ways to fund them. Brief biography
Giulia Friso – Senior Research Associate (gf32@cornell.edu). Giulia is an expert in Mass Spectrometry (MS), in particular in its application in proteomics. She has more than 20 years experience in MS and she has trained many lab members in the art of MS over the years. For more about Giulia – see http://blogs.cornell.edu/my-blog-giulia-friso/
Marissa Annis. Graduate student (BCMB program) (mya29@cornell.edu) Marissa is focused on the discovery of new chloroplast Clp protease adaptors using various biochemical and genetic tools in Arabidopsis. Marissa is supported by a 3-year NSF graduate fellowship.
Claire Ravenburg. Graduate student (Plant Biology program) (cmr297@cornell.edu) is interested in understanding substrate delivery and regulation of the Clp protease system through the discovery and functional analysis of new Clp protease adaptors in Arabidopsis.
Bingjian Yuan. Postdoctoral Fellow (by72@cornell.edu) Bingjian completed his PhD at the Max Planck Institute of Plant Breeding in Cologne, Germany. He is focused on new candidate chloroplast Clp protease adaptors and substrates using various biochemical and genetic tools in Arabidopsis (sponsored by NSF).
Pratyush Routray. Postdoctoral Fellow (proutray@cornell.edu). Pratyush completed his PhD in Molecular Plant Sciences at Washington State University in Pullman. His research is focused on plastid proteases and the proteostasis network as well as our Arabidopsis PeptideAtlas project sponsored by NSF.
There are now more than 60 former lab member alumni. Some impressions below.
