Cornell Cinema presents indie rock band Yo La Tengo at two events Saturday, Sept. 29 – performing their live score to the documentary “The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller” with Academy Award-nominated director Sam Green (“The Weather Underground”) and a “Freewheeling” concert and Q & A with the band.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 13. The film program is $20 general, $18 students; the “Freewheeling” show is $24, $20 students. A pass for both events is $38 general, $32 students.

Fuller (above, 1895-1983), an influential futurist, philosopher, inventor, architect and engineer, was a visiting critic in architecture at Cornell in the 1950s.

Tickets for three Alloy Orchestra events Nov. 9-10 at Cornell Cinema also go on sale online Aug. 13. They are: Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis,” $14 general, $10 students/seniors. “Not Just for Kids,” $6 general, $5 ages 12 and under. “The Overcoat,” $12 general, $9 students/seniors.
