Glee Club hits high note in Wales

Scott Tucker recently saw his final appearance after 17 years as conductor of the Cornell Glee Club garner the second-highest score out of nearly 250 choirs at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

The Glee Club recently returned from a two-week tour in England, Scotland and Wales. The focal point of the tour was the music festival. “It’s a competition sort of like the Olympics of choral music, where singers come from all over the world to compete,” said Glee Club President Patrick Chamberlain ’13.

According to Chamberlain, the 50 members of the Glee Club who joined the tour were given 11 minutes to perform their program. For the second week of the tour, the Glee Club was joined by 19 alumni, ranging from the classes of 1955-2011.
