Mink on the wall
“Timelines,” a solo show of paintings on raw canvas and linen by Barbara Mink, Johnson senior lecturer, will be on display during June at Ithaca’s State of the Art Gallery.
Says Mink: “I am taking a new measured and mathematical approach in which the neutral palette compliments natural linen; the intentional shapes and less intentional color masses speak to decisively black lines. Juxtaposing the large with the small, line with color, square with circle, intuitive with cerebral, I strive to construct a new world of inventive and playful, but always purposeful, content.”
“Marina del Rey,” above, “is a strong and compelling representation of her new direction.”
