Cornell University Library’s Hip Hop Collection houses original artifacts, images and sound recordings documenting the birth and spread of hip-hop culture.

This summer, the library is lending its name to the True School NYC Summer Park Jam Series of hip-hop shows this summer in New York

“We’re proud to help support these old-school hip-hop events in New York,” said curator of rare books Katherine Reagan. “These parties in the Bronx and Harlem show people where hip-hop came from, which is what our collection is all about – documenting the first generation of hip-hop culture.”
