Cornell’s Fab@Home team, which makes 3-D printers, or “fabbers” that can build objects from computer designs, won the editor’s choice award at a recent exhibition.
The team, led by Cornell associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering Hod Lipson, received the award at the Maker Faire 2010 in New York City, Sept. 25-26.
About 450 groups demonstrated projects to more than 10,000 visitors. The Cornell team presented its DIY 3D Printer Model 2.
