Worth a thousand words

Millions of images are just a click away for Cornell students, faculty and staff with several digital databases on the Cornell Library’s Web site.

On the library’s home page, click on the images tab on the left of the page to access millions of images that Cornell subscribes to through several different interfaces, including Artstor and Luna Insight. Members of the Cornell community engaged in art and architectural history, studio courses, literature, classics and other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences can find images relevant for research and teaching.

“Faculty can create a group of images, project them during lecture and then put them in a shared online folder for their students to study,” said Martha Walker, fine arts librarian.

Rules regarding uses of digital images vary. For guidance on specific uses, consult the staff at the Fine Arts Library.
