Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS) Graduate Student Council is to serve as the unified voice of SIPS graduate students and to encourage communication and collaboration among graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, and administration.

Vision Statement

The School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS) Graduate Student Council (GSC) is a representative body of graduate students across the five fields within SIPS: Horticulture, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Biology, Soil and Crop Sciences, and Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology. A central goal of the SIPS Graduate Student Council is to create an inclusive and communicative community among the SIPS Graduate Fields. In particular, the SIPS GSC seeks to provide a platform for graduate students to have a collective voice within SIPS administrative handlings through direct communication with the SIPS Executive Committee and the SIPS Graduate Fields Council. The SIPS Graduate Student Council envisions biannual meetings with the Executive Committee to discuss current policies, action items, or concerns that arise within the SIPS community. Items discussed in the biannual meetings will center on topics that affect students across the graduate fields and directly impact SIPS graduate student academics, research, and well-being at Cornell University.
