A large number of pests of US agriculture are not native to the US. Most recently, we have been investigating two important invasive insects of vegetables in the Northeast. The swede midge is a pest of crucifers and was first detected in the US in 2004 in Niagara County, NY. The leek moth was first detected in 2009 in Clinton County, NY. For both of these pests we have created websites describing their biology, ecology and management strategies.
