Partners

As part of Cornell’s Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR), PRYDE has close relationships with faculty, practitioners, and community partners in the fields of youth development and translational research. Like PRYDE, NYS 4-H Youth Development is located in the BCTR. PRYDE collaborates with all the NYS 4-H Youth Development staff, and the director, Andy Turner, is part of PRYDE’s core team.

Through the BCTR, PRYDE also has relationships with the larger Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) system, including Cornell Cooperative Extension-NYC (CUCE-NYC). Besides 4-H Youth Development programs, CCE has other programs to improve the health and vitality of New York State families and communities. PRYDE is currently developing a work group of CCE educators from across New York State, including those responsible for 4-H programming in their counties.

PRYDE also has partnerships with faculty throughout Cornell University, including but not limited to the College of Human Ecology (CHE). PRYDE’s co-directors, Anthony Burrow and Jane Mendle, are both faculty members in CHE’s Department of Human Development.

PRYDE has other relationships with researchers and practitioners in the fields of youth development and translational research. Although in it’s planning stages, PRYDE aims to create a National Advisory Committee of experts to oversee its activities.
