Michael Muller wins one of five Fuerst Awards

The Math Library would like to congratulate one of its student workers, Michael Muller, a fourth-year Engineering student and a Math Library student employee, who was chosen a recipient of the 2012 Fuerst Award!

Mike started his employment with the Math Library in August 2009 as a student assistant. Throughout the years he has grown and developed into the model student employee. He is dependable, dedicated, and has the proven knowledge of all the complexities involved with operating the circulation desk. With these qualities, he was promoted to Student Supervisor in August of 2011. Over the past year, Mike has assisted Natalie Sheridan (Math Library manager) with many of the duties that are often assumed by staff, such as technical services processing, training new student employees, assisting with bindery processing, and tackling tedious stacks maintenance projects. The Math Library has been lucky to have the benefit of such a well-rounded student employee. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.

The William F. Fuerst Award recognizes the top student library employees with the largest monetary award on campus. Bill Fuerst’s endowment generously allows the Library to recognize student workers at a reception and award each student recipient with $500. This year, Mike is one of five student employees throughout the Cornell University Libraries to receive the William F. Fuerst Award.

Congratulations Mike!
