Annex Tours!

There will be a tour of the Library Annex on April 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Come and learn about this amazing facility and it’s hardworking staff.

The Library Annex is actually the largest library on campus, both in terms of physical size (it could hold four 747 jets) and in terms of the number of books it holds (2.5 million). The Annex serves as long-term storage for less-frequently-used library items but it is also a hive of activity: Any physical item in the Annex can be brought to campus within as little as 24 hours and sometimes within the very same day. And almost any article or book chapter can be scanned and delivered by email within just a few hours. It is a phenomenal resource and a feat of engineering in itself.

Transportation will be offered by van but seats are limited: RSVP ASAP for your seat. Once confirmed, meet in front of Uris Hall on the Tower Road side (facing the A.D. White house) at 12:15.

Questions? Email or phone Jeremy Cusker, Earth Sciences and Engineering Outreach Librarian, Engineering Library at jpc27@cornell.edu or 254-6261.
