And together the newest Cornellians have read the book along with Cornell faculty, alumni, and staff, as well as with members of the Ithaca community. This year we are reading “The Grapes of Wrath” together. And whether you are reading this book for the first time, the second time, or maybe even a tenth time, this time you are reading it with us.

The Library is supporting this effort on a a blog, which will have frequent posts about the book, the author, the movie, and the Dust Bowl. Participants can also follow along on Twitter and the main New Student Reading Project Web site.

In a dramatic change of practice, Cornell University Library has announced it will no longer require its users to seek permission to publish public domain items duplicated from its collections. Instead, users may now use reproductions of public domain works made for them by the Library or available via Web sites, without seeking any further permission.
