In addition to celebrating William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, Olin Library will host World Book Night.
World Book Night is an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the love of reading, person to person. Each year on April 23, tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and non-readers.
Olin Reference Librarians will be outside of the Amit Bhatia cafe at 5 pm on April 23rd to share their love of reading by handing out free copies of Anthony Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential” and Elizabeth Wein’s “Code Name Verity”. Copies are limited. If you are not lucky enough to get a free book, stop by Reference Desk to see what is available through the library.
One of the librarians shared why she chose to participate in World Book Night, ‘”losing yourself in a good book is a great way to escape from it all and de-stress.”
