Off-Campus Access Made Easy: Passkey

Cornell Library users: do you encounter problems getting into databases when you’re off campus? Try Passkey, your key that opens doors to electronic scholarship. Use Passkey to connect to databases and journals without going through the library web site.

Since many database and electronic resources providers require licenses for access, they also want to make sure that everyone getting in has the credentials to do so. Passkey will prompt you for your credentials. Say you find a link online (for instance, through a Google Scholar search) to a licensed article or database. Click on the passkey bookmarklet to connect to that licensed content.

Installation is simple & quick. It’s works in your browser—Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, or Chrome. Visit the web site for further details and installation procedures.
