The physical remnants of our history never truly disappear and as planners we struggle to adapt, reuse, and repurpose these remnants. Flushing Meadows Corona Park is incredibly unique in it’s size and in it’s footprint. Historians and preservationist recognize the importance of the site and American’s across the states have fond memories of the site. The site today is still prosperous catering to the community and hosting large events. How can this park continue to adapt and change while paying homage to their diverse past more specifically what can Flushing Meadows do to manage their relics of the past? This paper through a sustainable framework establishes some interventions that can be implemented over time to better prepare Flushing Meadows Corona Park for the future we focus on zone 5 of the Strategic Framework Plan and break the Zone into different subzones.
